Malen Pierson utilizes industrial waste to create metal animal sculptures

As his profile page says, Malen Pierson, the Salt Lake City, Utah-based multifaceted artist derives his creative inspiration from things we mostly thrust aside or neglect without even realizing that such attitude will force those discarded objects to contaminate our environs. Old tools, farm equipment, antiquities and other metal parts – he fuses everything together to bring his highly desirable art forms (see above image and gallery, after the jump) to the fore.

Just recently, Malen Pierson came up with life-sized animal sculptures that, in a way, seek to reinvent industrial waste in myriad shapes. Even the titles of his artworks, such as Rusty (2 no.), Goat Ate My Junk (5 no.), I’ll Have Another (2 no.) and Mystic Moose, shed enough light on his green intent.
