The brainchild of Ukrainian industrial designer Ilya Taslitskiy, Emotional Flower is a solar lamp that combines autonomy with frugality to illuminate urban spaces. Aside from utilizing solar energy to light the ambience, the urban lamp ensures smart distribution of energy. The automatic lamp, which turns itself on when needed, is located much lower than the regular park lights to ensure less energy consumption.
Touting a floral shape, the lamp raises its bud and opens it during daytime to reveal a chip that converts solar energy into electrical energy. Suitable for just any location, the Emotional Flower changes its bud position and dimensions to adjust the amount and direction of light while tracking the person’s location and motion. Its highly flexible stem allows Emotional Flower to move in any direction.
According to Taslitskiy, Emotional Flower offers itself as an independent lighting source that, aside from being self-reliant, minimizes energy consumption.
