British industrial designer Guy Simpson has earlier come up with impressive automotive designs, which, if realized, could transform the way we commute. However, this time he focuses on eco lighting solutions and accordingly, he has conceived a wind-powered street light. Dubbed as Eco Street Light, the concept streetlight aims to cut the use of conventional electricity. So, it comes equipped with a small wind turbine integrated into the top of the light.

During the day, the Eco Street Light harnesses wind energy and stores it in an underground battery. When it gets dark, the stored electricity can be used to power the light. The specially designed turbines can rotate to any direction to maximize power generation. It comes embedded with intelligent light sensors that control any minor fluctuations in daylight, and accordingly, turn the streetlight off and on when required. Moreover, it flaunts low voltage LEDs to disperse the light.
