Eco Fashion: Kayce Armstrong morphs recycled stuff into fashion garments

Kayce Armstrong morphs recycled stuff into fashion garments

Eco designer Kayce Armstrong has that particular knack for bringing trash into the realm of wearable fashion. Her green efforts to make recycled fashion mainstream helped her win the prestigious Designer’s Choice Award at 2011’s Miami Beach International Fashion Week. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength while allowing her skills to touch new, unexplored horizons.

Her couture collection dubbed Art of Shade includes ready to wear garments made from recycled and repurposed elements. Kayce transforms discarded advertising tarps into edgy jackets and upcycles regular fabrics to suggest couture fashion ideas. Other unusual stuff that she recycles to create her unique garments include plastic bottles and castoff materials from constructions sites.

Kayce sells offers sustainable Evolvo fashion garments from her Art of Shade couture and AOS ready-to-wear line for $100 and above at her shop, the Shade Post in Hollywood, FLA, and online.
