Daniel Cho’s PVC Pipe Lamp makes illumination more sustainable

Daniel Cho’s PVC Pipe Lamp makes illumination more sustainable

Conceived by Daniel Cho, a Rhode Island School of Design student and industrial designer, the PVC Pipe Lamp is an apt lighting solution for those who wish to adorn their interiors with a sustainable glow. Created out of recycled or reclaimed PVC pipes, the concept lamp flaunts neatly achieved, organic curves.

For creating his prototype, Daniel Cho first chose four different sizes of PVC pipes and then sheathed them together. He further heated those pipe pieces until they become malleable, so that they may acquire a floral (curved rather) shape. Just to ensure that the lamp has a nice smooth surface, the PVC pipes were further sanded.

Aside from being an illumination device, the PVC Pipe Lamp also allows people to think about myriad uses discarded PVC pipes can be put to; don’t you think so?
