Canadian designer morphs discarded wine glasses into Bipolar LED lamps

Inspiring enough to inspire you about making inspirational changes to stuff asking for a green inspiration, Canadian designer Tat Chao seems inspired by the recyclability of discarded wine glasses or champagne flutes as he transformed several of them into a slew of recycled Bipolar Pendant lamps. For making one, he takes two wine glasses or champagne flutes, removes their bases, attaches them together using an anodized aluminum ring that further wraps a strip of LED lights to keep both components equidistant.

Tat Chao thought of creating these lamps while making candleholders for another collection named IN VITRO. Inhabitat notes that these lamps flaunt myriad shapes, colors and sizes that range from 6” to 16” in length. Further, the glass bases are transformed into spinning tops and yo-yos to ensure nil wastage. Truly inspirational specimen of recycled art, isn’t it?
