Blame Toxic Environment for Obesity

Stop blaming only gluttony and laziness for your obesity. The solution is not as simple as to bring about a change for the fast-growing epidemic in the US by exercise and dieting only. Practically, the factors that share the pivotal responsibility in the complication are the differences in environment, culture, ethnicity and socio-economics.
About 64 percent of Americans are overweight and 30 percent are obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Besides personal responsibilities, safe parks, availability of inexpensive healthy foods, and awareness campaigns are needed. The environmental conditions turn people sedentary by encouraging unhealthy and high calorie food. To solve this highly expensive, and enormous health problem, and create a healthier community, societal cooperation from all sectors is needed.
