All these days, global warming concerns were limited mostly to scientists and environmentalists. But now, another group has come up to join hands with the concerned herds to take the lead on environmental issues and help aware people on climate change-related future and present devastations – the religious groups.
Perhaps religious leaders will prove more effective in countries with strong religious and superstitious beliefs.
About 135 churches across Connecticut have sponsored a show named – ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Along with this film, ‘The Great Warming,’ too alerts people sounding the alarm on climate change revealing justifiably how it will affect the earth’s life.
As part of an overall effort to become more energy-conscious, St. Bridget’s Church in Manchester has held showings of both films – the most effective platform to ventilate awareness on the ailing planet we live in!
After each showing, members of the congregation hand-out fliers to promote the use of compact fluorescent light bulbs. It also promotes other energy-saving strategies.
